Goodwill North Central Texas celebrated the opening of their newest headquarters and career center on Thursday in Fort Worth

Fort Worth, TX – On Thursday, Goodwill North Central Texas (GNCT) jubilantly unveiled their state-of-the-art headquarters and career center, a significant milestone for the organization’s commitment to combating poverty through education and employment.

This remarkable expansion was made possible through a generous $10 million endowment from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott in 2020, which facilitated the acquisition of two edifices and the enhancement of the organization’s workforce development initiatives.

“Education and employment are the only proven pathways out of poverty,” said David Cox, president and CEO of GNCT. “Indeed, the need for Goodwill’s services has never been greater and we are excited to expand employment and education services to break the cycle of poverty for those in our community.”

In an effort to amplify their impact, GNCT anticipates the appointment of 56 full-time personnel who will be instrumental in assisting an additional 35,000 individuals during the initial five-year period.

Nestled within a 2.28-acre parcel along State Highway 121, the headquarters and career center can be found on the northeastern fringes of Fort Worth.

Following her separation from Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos in 2019, Scott has displayed unwavering philanthropic dedication, contributing in excess of $14 billion to over 1,600 non-profit organizations, as detailed on her website. Among these beneficiaries, a substantial number are located in Texas, such as the recent endowment to the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas.
