Single-vehicle crash Saturday early morning in Dallas fatal for the driver, ongoing investigation

Dallas, TX – One person was pronounced dead at the scene Saturday early morning as a result of the single-vehicle crash, local authorities confirmed.

According to the investigators, the fatal crash happened when the driver of an SUV lost control along Loop 12 Walton Walker, at the I-35 split in Northwest Dallas around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

The investigators said the vehicle crashed head-first into the median attenuator which caused the vehicle to catch fire.

The first responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene, but didn’t provide more details if the death was a result due to severe injuries or the fire.

The identity of the driver was not immediately released to the public.

The incident is being investigated. Investigators believe another vehicle might have crashed into the SUV before the fatal crash.
