Mother and her two children struck by a vehicle near Comanche Springs Elementary School

Fort Worth, Texas – On Thursday morning, a vehicle struck a mother and her two children as they crossed the street near a primary school in the northwest part of Fort Worth, according to the police.

According to the police, none of the victims’ injuries were believed to be life-threatening, and all three of them were conscious and regarded as being in a stable condition.

The collision took place in the 8100 block of Comanche Springs Drive, which is located close to Comanche Springs Elementary School.

The SUV’s driver, a parent of a student at the school, allegedly failed to spot the pedestrians while making a turn at the intersection.

Authorities are reminding parents to use extreme caution and try not to be distracted while driving in school zones and the drop-off area.

So far this year, there have been eight accidents in active school zones in Fort Worth. According to data from the Texas Department of Transportation, 18 people have been hurt in these accidents.
