Denton woman is accused for murdering her minor nephew earlier this month, police

Denton, TX – Denton woman is accused by the authorities for murdering her 3-year-old grandson in an incident that took place earlier this month.

According to the incident report, the 3-year-old boy died on January 22 after being hospitalized for four days.

The 57-year-old Angela Downing, the minor’s grandmother and his legal guardian, is the main suspect in the case, the police confirmed.

The woman told the hospital medical staff that the boy had fallen down a flight of stairs when the boy was admitted in hospital for treatment. The boy had a skull fracture, brain swelling and bleeding.

Child Protective Services contacted police while the child was being treated.

Downing told the same story to the authorities when initially questioned what had happened, but she later admitted to had thrown the boy onto the floor and against a wall.

The suspect will be charged with murder.
