Early Thursday morning fire in Aledo Middle School cancels classes, no injuries reported, report

Aledo, TX – Aledo Middle School students had unplanned day-off from school because their school was under fire Thursday early morning.

According to local fire department, fire crews were dispatched at the scene of the Parker County school after a 911 call in regards to a fire.

The smoke was initially detected in the school’s new fine arts area, but later spread to other school areas.

“While we are working with the fire department to investigate the cause, due to that investigation and the significant impact on areas that serve students in the building, we are not able to have school at the campus today,” Aledo ISD said.

The students remained home on Thursday and the school apologized to the parents for the inconvenience. School officials later confirmed they are already cleaning the mess after the fire.

There is ongoing investigation which should reveal what caused the fire.

Students are expected to return to in-person classes on Friday.
