The 2-year-old girl that suffered serious injuries in Tuesday’s crash in Arlington has died in hospital
Arlington, TX – As we already reported, the Arlington’s crash on Tuesday sent three people in hospital for treatment after their vehicle was struck by suspected drunk driver who was arrested and charged after the incident.
Unfortunately, one of the victims, the 2-year-old girl, was pronounced dead in hospital despite all the doctors’ efforts to save her life.
The information was confirmed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner who said that the 2-year-old Mi’lania Pierite died Thursday evening.
Her family’s Toyota Tundra pickup was struck by a suspected drunken driver Tuesday, causing it to roll over a guardrail on Interstate 20 near the Highway 360 interchange.
Pierite was in critical condition after the incident as she suffered very serious injuries. The first responders confirmed that she was ejected from the truck as a result of the hit. She was in come and on ventilator support since her admittance in hospital.
The father, who was the driver of the pickup truck, ended up pinned in the driver’s seat. He had to be cut free by firefighters and underwent surgery for a crushed femur.
The mother of the toddler and her 4-year-old sister suffered less serious injuries and they are expected to recover soon.
The suspected drunken driver, 25-year-old Tyler Hampton, was charged with three counts of intoxication assault with serious bodily injury.
Since Pierite’s death, the charges against Hampton are expected to be upgraded.
