Looks Like Fort Worthians Will Get to See ‘The Nutcracker’ Ballet After All
Fort Worth, Texas – Texas Ballet Theater’s (TBT) annual performance of “The Nutcracker” will not be taking place at Bass Performance Hall this year. Still, the dance company has found another way to share the ballet with audiences in the area of COVID-19.
TBT will present a digital, filmed version of the production — at full length — from Dec. 14 – 16. Led by artistic director Ben Stevenson, O.B.E., the performance will be available for purchase via texasballettheater.org, and each digital ticket will also include a 30-minute version of “The Nutty Nutcracker” — the ballet company’s parody of the original.
“The Nutcracker is part of so many families’ holiday traditions, and this year they can keep that tradition going by watching from the safety and comfort of their homes,” TBT executive director Vanessa Logan said in a statement. “We are excited to offer this alternative and connect with audiences in our Dallas-Fort Worth community and beyond.”
Tickets are priced per household and patrons can purchase them through the company’s box office, either online or by calling 877-828-9200 option 1.
