Fort Worth Police ask for public’s help identifying deceased man found near railroad tracks on East Lancaster Avenue

Fort Worth, Texas – The Fort Worth Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an unidentified deceased man whose body was discovered near railroad tracks in early July.

To help generate leads, investigators have released artist renderings based on several distinctive tattoos found on the man. Officials emphasized that the images are artist renderings and not photographs of the individual.

Investigators hope distinctive tattoos lead to identification

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers responded on July 6, 2026, and located the body of an African American male in the 2000 block of East Lancaster Avenue in Fort Worth, near railroad tracks.

Due to the condition of the body, authorities said they were unable to make a positive identification using normal methods.

However, detectives noted that the man had several distinctive tattoos, which they believe could help someone recognize him. To assist the investigation, artist renderings have been created to show some of those tattoos in hopes that family members, friends, or acquaintances may recognize the designs.

Police are encouraging anyone who believes they may know the identity of the deceased man or who has information that could assist the investigation to contact the Fort Worth Police Department.

Anyone with information is asked to call 817-392-4429 and reference FWPD case number 26-0055305.

Investigators hope the release of the tattoo renderings will generate new leads and ultimately help identify the man, allowing authorities to notify his family and continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
