The FWACC team, recognizing the urgency of Mama’s condition, quickly administered pain relief and transported her to a city facility dedicated to animal care. The severity of her injuries required immediate attention, and she was moved to the Silcox Shelter for an emergency operation. There, the veterinary staff performed surgery to remove Mama’s damaged eye, a necessary step to alleviate her pain and prevent further complications.
As Mama was recovering from her surgery, a poignant part of her story unfolded. Her owner, who lives on the streets, learned of the tragic accident and reached out to FWACC through email. His message was a heartfelt plea to be reunited with Mama, expressing how crucial she was to his daily resilience and hope. This package included a dog sleeping bag, a new harness, collar, leash, as well as ample food, treats, blankets, and toys.
