Major overnight and daytime closures on Dallas North Tollway from March 23–29 to support NTTA’s construction project, with impacts stretching from Gaylord Parkway to Panther Creek

Frisco, Texas – The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) has announced a series of scheduled closures along the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) in Frisco as part of the ongoing widening project. These closures, essential for pavement pours, wall work, and construction access, will take place from Sunday, March 23, to Saturday, March 29, contingent on weather conditions.
Starting Sunday, daily closures will affect various ramps and lanes. According to the City of Frisco, drivers should prepare for the northbound and southbound left lanes from Gaylord Parkway to Cotton Gin Road to be intermittently closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Additionally, the southbound right lane from PGA Parkway to Panther Creek Parkway will see similar restrictions. These daytime closures are designed to minimize disruption during peak traffic hours.
More extensive work will occur overnight. From 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., two lanes in both directions from Gaylord Parkway to Cotton Gin Road will be closed to facilitate more intensive construction activities without affecting the heavy daytime traffic flow.
Specifically, on March 24-27, further closures will target the southbound lanes from Warren Parkway to the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT), happening nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Moreover, direct-connector ramps from east- and westbound SRT to northbound DNT will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on March 24-26. The following nights, March 26-27, will see closures on the southbound DNT to east- and westbound SRT direct-connector ramps during the same hours.
Highlighting significant overnight closures on March 28-29 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the northbound Eldorado Parkway exit ramp, the northbound Main Street entrance ramp, and two northbound right lanes from Main Street to Eldorado Parkway will be inaccessible. These closures are crucial for the safety of the workers as they perform necessary construction tasks that are too disruptive during the day.
Additionally, some ramps will experience continuous closures, such as the northbound Panther Creek Parkway exit ramp, which is closed for City of Frisco work with an estimated reopening on April 14, and the southbound SH 121/Headquarters Drive exit ramp along with the northbound DNT entrance ramp at SH 121.
The NTTA urges motorists to exercise caution while driving through the work zones or to consider alternative routes. Real-time traffic updates and closure information can be accessed through the Waze app, which can help drivers navigate around the closures efficiently.
