Devastating Arlington crash leaves community shaken as authorities arrest three men, including a suspected drunk driver, in connection with fatal blaze that killed a man trapped in a burning car

Arlington, Texas – Three men are now in custody following a devastating crash in Arlington that left one person dead and a vehicle engulfed in flames. The fatal collision occurred Saturday evening, March 22, 2025, just after 7:30 p.m. on Interstate 20 near Bowen Road, drawing a swift response from local authorities.

According to Arlington police, officers arrived on the scene to find a 1997 Mitsubishi 3000 GT completely engulfed in fire. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, but tragically, the remains of a 22-year-old man were discovered inside the vehicle. Officials believe the young man died as a result of the intense fire sparked by the impact.

Investigators determined that the Mitsubishi had been stationary on the shoulder of the highway when it was struck from behind by a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The collision pushed the car into a nearby concrete barrier, which likely contributed to the fire that followed.

Witnesses told police they saw three men flee the pickup immediately after the crash. Officers quickly canvassed the area and located all three individuals nearby, taking them into custody for questioning.

The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as 25-year-old Cesar Ramirez Castro. Officers suspected that Ramirez Castro may have been under the influence at the time of the crash. After conducting a series of field sobriety tests, police arrested him on charges of intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid resulting in death. He is currently being held in the Arlington City Jail and is also subject to an immigration hold.

The two passengers in the pickup—30-year-old Marcelino Ramirez-Ramirez and 24-year-old Daniel Castro Zammarron—were also arrested. Both men were booked on charges of public intoxication. Like the driver, they are currently being held with immigration detainers in place.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will be responsible for formally identifying the victim and notifying next of kin.

The incident has raised concerns about impaired driving and highway safety. Arlington Police say the investigation remains ongoing and are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.

This tragedy marks a sobering reminder of the dangers posed by driving under the influence. As the community mourns the loss of a young life, law enforcement officials continue their efforts to hold those responsible accountable.
