Firefighters responded to an apartment building fire in Grand Prairie; 25 inhabitants displaced
Grand Prairie, Texas – According to the Grand Prairie Fire Department, a fire that broke out at an apartment complex on Wednesday displaced 25 residents from their homes.
Firefighters from the Grand Prairie Fire Department responded to a report of an apartment building fire in the 1900 block of Houston St. at around 9 o’clock on Wednesday evening.
Upon arrival, firefighters noticed that flames were spreading to the second level, prompting a request for a two-alarm response, which was eventually upgraded to a three-alarm response by command staff. The fire was brought under control in less than 45 minutes.
The fire destroyed or damaged 17 units in the apartment building, forcing 25 people out of their homes temporarily.
There have been no injuries recorded. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
