Dallas house completely destroyed Thursday overnight due to gas explosion, another home damaged
Dallas, TX – Dallas home was completely destroyed in gas explosion that happened Thursday overnight, local authorities confirmed.
According to the incident report, the gas explosion happened just after 1 a.m. at a home located in the 8700 block of San Leandro Drive, near White Rock Lake. The police and fire crews were immediately dispatched at the scene following a 911 call by a neighbor after hearing a loud bang.
Once the man reported the incident to the authorities, he saw the house on the other side of the street was already on fire.
When fire crews arrived at the scene, a one-story home was completely on fire. The firefighters managed to put the fire under control within an hour, but the home was already completely destroyed. Neighboring home was partially damaged in the incident.
According to the fire crews, things like shingles, shards of wood, and other debris were found as far as 60 feet from the location due to the explosion. Luckily, no injuries were reported since all four people living in the home were out at the time of the incident.
“To see something like that tells you that something significant occurred,” said Jason Evans, with Dallas Fire-Rescue.
There is ongoing investigation that should reveal what lead to the gas explosion.
