Dallas, Texas – Wednesday night crash on Interstate 45 near Downtown Dallas was fatal for a truck driver and his dog, local authorities informed.
According to the incident report, the fatal accident happened on southbound I-45 over eastbound I-30 in the night hours around 9 p.m.
Sheriff’s deputies who responded at the scene confirmed that the truck jack-knifed on the slick road and hit a guard rail.
As a result of the crash, the driver was thrown out of the cab and fell about 40 feet onto the I-30 ramp.
The driver’s dog who was at the truck at the moment was also killed in the incident.
While the deputies were investigating and cleaning the scene, part of the road was closed for traffic for several hours.
The identity of the victim was not immediately released by the authorities.
