Early Monday morning apartment fire in Dallas almost fatal for one adult and three children, report
Dallas, TX – Apartment fire in Dallas in the early morning hours on Monday was almost fatal for a mother and her three young children.
According to the incident report, the fire happened in an apartment complex located on Gannon Lane in the early morning hours on Monday, shortly after midnight.
When fire crews arrived at the scene, a second-floor apartment was on fire.
Shortly after their arrival, they have been informed that three minor children, all under the age of five, were still inside the apartment.
The mother was also inside the apartment when the fire started, but neighbors helped her to escape the apartment before fire crews’ arrival.
Firefighters immediately reacted and got into the apartment. They managed to rescue all three children.
The mother and all three of the children were immediately transferred to hospital for treatment.
Two of the children suffered only minor injuries and are expected to recover soon. One of the children suffered serious injuries and is hospitalized in critical condition. The mother is also treated for smoke inhalation and burn injuries.
There is heavy smoke and water damage to the apartment unit, but the fire was contained quickly before it could spread.
