Local teenage girl shot in overnight shooting in Fort Worth, pronounced dead at hospital, police
Fort Worth, TX – Thursday night shooting in Fort Worth resulted with one teenager shot to death, Fort Worth Police Department confirmed.
According to the incident report, the shooting took place to 3560 Altamesa Boulevard. Officers were dispatched at the scene following a 911 call in regards to a shooting.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering at least one gunshot wound. She was transferred in hospital in critical condition where she was pronounced dead around 10 p.m.
The victim was identified by police as the 13-year-old Zakavia Shante Walker.
Investigators who responded at the scene said the suspect approached the victim and fired a shot at her, hitting her in the process.
Right after the shooting, the suspect fled the scene on foot in unknown direction.
At this point, it remains unknown what led to the incident and what was the motive behind the shooting.
Local authorities are investigating the case and are expected to provide more details once available.
