It’s now official: Matthew McConaughey announced he won’t run for Texas governor next year
Texas – It has been more than a year when McConaughey initially announced that he is considering to run for the top office in Texas.
However, the actor officially announced in a Twitter video that he definitely won’t run for governor against Greg Abbott next year.
McConaughey hinted his possible future in politics last November for the very time, saying that he would consider a political career if the demand was there.

As of September, McConaughey was still mulling over running for governor.
The filing deadline for candidates is December 13th.
