The inflation highest in last three decades, North Texans forced to look for a second job

North Texas – The rising inflation is still a huge problem and it looks like the problem is getting bigger as we approach the holiday season.

The rising prices trend has been around for a few months now and the latest data shows that the current inflation is the highest in the last 30 years.

From gas prices to food, everything is by far more expensive from what it used to be at the beginning of the year. The current situation is alarming and many North Texans are forced to look for a second job, so is the case with Robert Williams of Dallas.

“I went to buy pack of ribs, they’re usually !13.00,” says Williams, “they were 19.00!”

According to Williams, everything became more expensive and now that is very noticeable. He is among those thinking of getting a second job.

“It’s very disconcerting,” says Jan Bennett. “I think it’s going to get worse before it gets better.”

The trend of rising prices is not going to stop anytime soon especially not before the end of year. Families with children are probably struggling the most lately.

“Those numbers have real impact,” says Melinda Opperman with Credit.Org. “When I saw the news today my stomach just had a real blow to it because I know the families we have been working with… this is going to hit them hard.”

Opperman says they are working on lowering the daily expenses for those families like cable TV rates, but admits it won’t be easy to negotiate with companies since they feel the effect of the inflation too.

“Start by looking at bank statements,” says Opperman. “Look at recurring bills, see if there are any you can discontinue or trim back.”

Experts believe that the situation with the rising prices and the overall inflation should start getting back to normal starting summer next year.
