Arlington High School teacher attacked by student on Tuesday, the student is arrested
Arlington, TX – A 17-year-old Arlington High School student identified as Connor Hughes was arrested than released on a bond for attacking teacher on Tuesday.
According to the police report, Hughes attacked the English teacher identified as the 58-year-old Chris Pate on Tuesday and he allegedly “punched and kicked” him multiple times.
Pate has been a teacher for more than three decades and he never experienced something similar in his life.
The police said he suffered injuries as a result of the attack, but no additional details were provided.
Hughes was arrested and charged with assault on a public servant and was released from the Arlington City Jail on Wednesday after posting a $7,500 bond.
The ongoing investigation should reveal what happened before the incident and what both of them said moments before the teacher was beaten.
The school district still remains silent about the incident and no official statement was released.
It’s not clear if Hughes has obtained an attorney.
