Vaccine incentives for staff, mask mandate for everyone, Garland ISD approved the new Covid-19 safety measures in the schools

Garland, TX – Garland ISD joined the list of Texas school districts that will start mandating everyone in schools to wear masks.

According to the latest information, all students, teachers and staff will be required to wear face masks or coverings starting next Wednesday.

Both vaccinated and unvaccinated will be required to wear masks while on school campus, facilities and school buses.

If no additional changes are done in the state law, the mandate will remain in place at least until October 26.

Officials from the school district also announced that they will offer vaccination incentives for unvaccinated teachers and staff.

Those fully vaccinated will be given $500, while those who will decide to take the third, booster dose when available will get additional $250.
