Rapid Covid-19 tests received in Fort Worth ahead of National Finals Rodeo events
Fort Worth, Texas – The City of Fort Worth has received the first batch of Covid-19 rapid tests for people to use prior to attending the Nationals Finals Rodeo events this week.
Fort Worth Fire Chief Jim Davis said they are anticipating to get 37,000 tests that will be available to Fort Worth visitors and residents at no cost.
Davis said this will be used as another layer of protection to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19 during rodeo events in Fort Worth and Arlington, which is expected to draw in large crowds.
“We don’t have to sacrifice our economy for our health but we have to be smart about it,” said Davis. “We are putting things in place to make it extremely easy for people to have the opportunity to do the right thing,” he said.
Davis said the tests are reliable and is hoping this will be something the city will continue to use for other events during the pandemic.
