Texas mom tells police she was advised to slit 4-year-old daughter’s throat, authorities say
Fort Worth, Texas – A Texas woman who reported her 4-year-old daughter missing has been charged with the girl’s murder.
Fort Worth Police were called to a home on the 2100 block of Hurley Avenue about 11:40 a.m. Monday for a report of a missing child.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports Krystal Lewandowski called 911 and told the dispatcher that her daughter was missing, according to police. The dispatcher asked where she had last seen the girl, and Lewandowski said in the back yard.
Lewandowski said, “OK, maybe I should just tell you now. OK, so last night I was advised to slit her throat.”
The dispatcher asked where the girl was and Lewandowski said she had wrapped the girl up and put her in a trash can in the back yard.
Lewandowski told police several times that someone told her to kill her daughter and that something worse would happen to her if she did not, the Star-Telegram reports. She told police she had killed the girl on Sunday night.
“Lewandowski made several statements about causing harm to her daughter because she was told to do so, or something worse would happen,” a detective wrote in an affidavit.
Police said they took the victim’s 18-month-old brother into protective custody. He was unhurt. Krystal Lewandowski, 34, was booked into jail Monday night on a charge of capital murder of a person under 10 years old.
