Small win for Dallas city employees up to six weeks paid time off after the birth of a child, applies for both males and females
Dallas, TX – Starting Thursday, Dallas city employees will have another benefit following Wednesday’s city council meeting.
According to multiple reports, city council members unanimously voted on Wednesday to approve up to six weeks paid time off after the birth of a child for all Dallas city employees.
As per the most recent policy, employees had to use vacation time or sick days to take time off for a new baby.
When those days ran out, Dallas city workers would go unpaid.
What is even more positive with the latest policy is that applies for both male and female workers.
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson was among those who initially started advocating for the policy change as soon as he got his third child earlier this year.
This is surely major benefit for all city employees and the policy will make city’s open job positions in the future more attractive and more competitive.
