Fort Worth launches specialized council committees as Mayor Parker prioritizes expert collaboration and resident input in city leadership

Fort Worth, Texas – In a move to enhance city governance and community involvement, Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker has announced the formation of new City Council committees. These committees are set to tackle a broad spectrum of local issues ranging from infrastructure to public safety and legislative affairs.

The committees are designed to align closely with the Assistant City Manager portfolios, ensuring that each group’s focus is sharply tailored to specific areas of city management. Mayor Parker expressed her confidence in the new committees, highlighting the expertise and enthusiasm of the council members appointed.

“We are fortunate to have councilmembers who are eager to lend their experience and expertise to advise our City management team on the work that matters most to Fort Worth residents,” Parker said.

These newly formed groups will function as essential working groups where city management can solicit feedback and direction on critical projects and issues. The committees are also expected to facilitate more in-depth discussions with subject matter experts and community members, providing a platform for voices from various sectors of the community to be heard.

The inaugural meetings of these committees are scheduled to commence in April, marking a significant step towards involving more community input in the city’s decision-making processes. The initiative is part of Mayor Parker’s broader strategy to ensure that Fort Worth’s governance is both responsive and inclusive, reflecting the diverse needs and aspirations of its residents.
