Fort Worth breaks ground on $25.6 million Northwest Patrol Division facility to unify police operations and improve public safety in city’s expanding northwest region

Fort Worth, Texas – In the morning on April 8, city officials, local leaders, and members of the community will gather at 3900 Angle Ave for a significant milestone in local law enforcement infrastructure—the groundbreaking of the Fort Worth Police Department’s (FWPD) new Northwest Patrol Division Facility. This event, scheduled to commence at 9 a.m., marks a pivotal step in enhancing police operations in the city’s northwest quadrant.

The new facility, a sprawling 31,710-square-foot complex, aims to unify various branches of the Northwest Division under one roof, including Patrol Officers, Neighborhood Police Officers, Detectives, the Code Blue and Bike Units, as well as Division Administration. This consolidation is expected to streamline operations by bringing together resources currently spread across a City-owned and a leased facility. By housing these diverse units together, the FWPD anticipates a boost in operational efficiency and communication, critical factors in effective community policing.

Speakers at the groundbreaking ceremony will include notable figures such as Mayor Mattie Parker, City Councilmembers Carlos Flores and Macy Hill, City Manager Jay Chapa, and other key officials. They will be joined by Chief of Police Neil Noakes and Assistant Chief of Police Robert Alldredge, among others, highlighting the broad spectrum of city leadership unified in support of this project.

The facility, which represents a $25.6 million investment from the 2022 Bond Program supplemented by the Crime Control and Prevention District, is not just a workspace for law enforcement. It is envisioned as a community hub where the Northwest Division commander, lieutenants, sergeants, detectives, officers, and civilian staff can collaborate more effectively. Moreover, the facility is designed to foster community engagement through new and ongoing Citizens on Patrol programs, providing space for community meetings and enhancing overall accessibility to the police force.

The design and construction of the facility have been entrusted to FPI Builders LLC, with GFF Inc. serving as the architect and engineer. The construction is set to begin shortly after the groundbreaking with an anticipated completion in spring 2026.

As the community looks forward to the enhanced capabilities and improved service delivery from this new establishment, the groundbreaking event serves as a promise of the city’s commitment to safety and proactive community policing. This development is a critical component of Fort Worth’s broader strategy to address crime prevention and response, ensuring that the Northwest Division is well-equipped to meet the challenges of a growing city.
