Murder-suicide incident in Granbury apartments results with four people dead, police
Granbury, Texas – Two adults and two children were found dead in Granbury apartment on Thursday in what appears to be a murder-suicide incident, the police confirmed.
According to the police report, the local authorities found four dead bodies located in a home in the 300 block of Kathy Lane in Granbury after they’ve been sent for a welfare check.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found four dead bodies including two children. The victims were later identified as the 36-year-old Marcus Buchanan, 34-year-old Rita Buchanan, a 13-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl.
The investigation about the incident is still ongoing, but according to what the investigator saw at the scene, they believe it was murder-suicide incident. The police confirmed that all of the victims died as a result of gunshot wounds.
The initial investigation shows no other people involved in the incident.
Witnesses say that several patrol vehicles and tens of officers and deputies were at the scene for more than 12 hours before they revealed to the neighbors what had happened inside the home.
According to one neighbor, nothing similar happened in the neighborhood before claiming that this is calm and safe neighborhood. Others said that none of them had heard gunshots and the police discovery is nothing but shocking for the residents in the area taking into consideration the fact that family was just like any other family in the area.
The family reportedly moved in their new home six months ago from Las Vegas. Nothing indicated that such thing could happen to them.
The local authorities confirmed there has been no prior history with them and the father had no prior criminal background at all. The 34-year-old Rita, however, Rita was charged with disorderly conduct in Henderson, Nevada, in 2014.
