Two killed, third victim remains in hospital following the Sunday’s hit-and-run incident in Fort Worth
Fort Worth, TX – Two people are killed while one person is still in hospital for treatment as a result of the Sunday’s hit-and-run in Fort Worth, local authorities say.
According to them, the 12-year-old Allison Zarate and the 20-year-old Bella Vasquez were involved in minor accident Sunday morning, but later struck and killed by other vehicle while as they were walking to get help.
Another person, a third victim in the incident, remains hospitalized and his condition is unknown at this point.
The fatal incident took place on I-20 in the early morning hours around 2 a.m. on Sunday when three vehicles crashed causing only minor damage to the vehicles.
All three were walking on the shoulder of the highway to get help when a vehicle struck them without stopping.
Vasquez died at the scene, while the two other victims were transferred to hospital for treatment. The 12-year-old died Sunday afternoon.
Officer Brad Perez says footage from cameras down the road shows several cars going by. It was not surprising for a Halloween weekend.
Police are still investigating the case. Authorities are asking for public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect responsible for the crash.
