Woman starved and beat 9-year-old girl with dog collar until she almost died claiming that she was ‘evil’ in their ‘house of horror’ home, charged

Mother of three and her boyfriend are finally charged few months later after authorities discovered their “house of horror” where the couple was allegedly torturing and abusing three minor children, all under 14, for extended period of time resulting with almost certain death of woman’s 9-year-old girl.

According to the court documents, the incident took place last February when the 31-year-old mother of the girl identified as L. Williams and her boyfriend, the 35-year-old W. Hawthorne, were arrested for abusing, torturing and beating Williams’ 9-year-old daughter until she passed out.

The couple have been arrested and held in jail ever since, but court documents indicate that they were finally charged on November 22. Williams has been charged in a sprawling 18-count indictment on myriad child abuse charges over the treatment of her 9-year-old daughter, who the defendant allegedly punished for being “evil.”

The authorities were dispatched at Williams’ house in Texas on February 18 after she called 911 reporting that her 9-year-old daughter lost consciousness and was cold to the touch. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the girl who was “extremely emaciated” and weighed only 35 pounds.

Doctors said that weight was appropriate for a 4-year-old girl, but now for girl that was double that age. That led authorities to further investigate the whole case and what they discovered later was nothing but sad.

Investigators named Williams’ home the “house of horror” after they discovered that the mother and her boyfriend tortured Williams’ three minor children, all under 14, for extended period of time. Williams intentionally and/or knowingly caused assault with serious bodily injury to three children striking them with her hands, foot and a chain.

Investigators found out that the 9-year-old victim was additionally suffering more because her mother thought “she was evil.” That led Williams to additionally torture, abuse, starve and beat her minor daughter using dog collar until the girl passed out so she was forced to call 911.

The girl was taken to hospital and held for treatment. Luckily, the 9-year-old survived.

When initially questioned by police what was happening in their home lately, the mother said that her daughter had suddenly stopped eating and drinking claiming that was the reason for her condition. The couple went on to say they only feed their children rice and vegetables.

Williams allegedly added that her 9-year-old was “evil and just trying to get her mother in trouble.” Hawthorne was asked if “the victim is capable of starving herself to death in order to get the defendant in trouble and he said yes.”

At the time when the victim was hospitalized for treatment, the girl tested positive on Covid-19. The little girl had bruises all over her body and was suffering from extreme malnutrition. When she finally felt better and was able to speak clearly, the little girl told authorities she had been beaten with the dog leash and had been shackled around her feet. The bruises confirmed her condition.

Williams and Hawthorne are being held in jail on a $100,000 bail in a Bexar County lockup facility. Williams is facing up to 99 years or life in state prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000.
